Ribbon organizer

My ribbon storage has just been a drawer and you can see what a mess it had become.  I saw an add for a ribbon organizer and thought I could do that with my gypsy!

*I used plain cardstock for this project and they seem to be holding up just fine!

Here is the before picture:

Here is my ribbon all organized!:

These are the 'ribbon cards' I designed on my gypsy and then cut on my Cricut expression:

I used the George cartridge:  I selected the square with the rounded edges on p. 111 and then stretched it on the gypsy (width 2.27 x height 2.44).  I then used the same square to make the slits (width 1.57 x height 0.10) The little circle is width 0.29x height 0.27.

I found that I could fit 12 of these on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock:

This was super easy and it is so nice to have my ribbon organized!

  12. The large ring was from some crate paper ribbon I bought. 6 little spools of ribbon came on this big ring.

  17. FANTASTIC idea! Thank you so much for sharing your file. I've seen this ribbon organizing system for sale but never considered it. I am a ribbon collector and it would be way too expensive. We can never have too much ribbon, can we? :D

  20. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
You are so sweet to share this tutorial. I cannot use the gypsy files because I can only load a 6 x 12 mat on my baby bug, so having an idea of how you created this is just wonderful!!!
    Thanks

  22. You say the cut file can be found under 'cut files' at the top of the page but I just can't see it. Where have you hidden it? Lol!
